Fire safety checks – exit signs

Our series on fire safety checks continues. This time we look at fire exit signs and what managers need to ensure so that there workplace complies with fire law.

The following questions regarding fire safety checks – exit signs will assist the manager:

  • Do all fire exit signs conform to current Standards and display a running person?
  • Can exit signs indicating the way out be seen from all parts of the workplace?
  • Are exit signs lit where there low levels of light?
  • Do exits signs include directional arrows where needed?
  • Do staff understand what the fire exit signs indicate

If any of the these questions are answered No, then an upgrade of fire exit signs may be needed.

Add this list to your fire safety checklist from this series.
